About Barbara Schmal
I have had a love for real estate all my adult life. My father built homes and I was always helping him, so I decided to obtain my real estate license and help people to get their dream homes. I became a realtor for Indiana and Illinois in 1990 and worked with McColly Better Homes and Gardens from 1990 to 1998. I had great mentors and learned much about the real estate market for existing homes and new construction. I moved to Florida in 1998 and started rehabbing homes in the Clearwater area. I enjoyed taking tired sad homes and making them come alive once again. When I completed a house, I needed to find a family to make the house a home. I went back to real estate state school to get my Florida Real Estate License. I received my license in 2012 and I continued to take classes so I can be the best to make sure I provide the best customer service possible. I received the GRI designation (Graduate Realtor Institute), RSPS certification (Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist), and PSA certification (Pricing Strategic Advisor). Received my Brokers License in 2016, and I have been a Florida Real Estate Instructor since 2014. I was awarded the Five Star Professional Award for Tampa Real Estate Agent 2018. In 2020 I received the CAM License (Community Association Manager License). I am a Florida Certified Real Estate Instructor and own a Real Estate Training School. In the past, I taught real estate licensing classes for Bob Hogue and the Tampa School of Real Estate. I was born in Harvey Illinois and at age 13 moved to South Holland, Illinois where I lived for 25 years. I graduated in 1970 from Thornridge High School, in Dolton Illinois, home of the Falcons. Then in 1990, I moved to Crown Point Indiana, and back to Dyer Indiana in 1994. Owner and Certified Real Estate Instructor for Real Estate Training School. I offer real estate Pre-License, Post License, and Continue Education Courses. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Prior to purchase a home the number one thing to do is contact a lender for mortgage qualification.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Prior to selling a home having the home inspected by a licensed home inspector will eliminate any repairs the buyers inspector would fine.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with out of state buyers, first time home buyers, buyers moving up and downsizing.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I sold a condo to a couple that lived out of state, three years later they did not want to be snow birds and wanted to buy a house so they can be permanent residents in Florida. We found the perfect house and I sold their condo in 1 day.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I started in 1990 in Indiana and Illinois, I moved to Florida in 1998 and rehabbed homes. I decided to get my license for Florida in 2012. I was working as a purchasing agent for a medical surgical manufacturer. I retired in 2012 and received my real estate license within 5 years I obtained my broker's license, GRI designations, and RSPS & PSA certification. I also hold a Community Association Managers License and an Indian Brokers License.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I own Real Estate Training School - I teach the Pre and Post Licensing for Florida Sales Associate and Broker Classes.
