My wife and I began working with Carol in February of this year in our search for our first home together. Carol spent several hours with us at the start of the process and thoroughly detailed all the things we could expect to encounter and succinctly summarized the mountain of paperwork that we needed to complete.We began viewing houses shortly afterward. Carol was very accommodating throughout this process and figured out ways to work around our schedule. A few weeks into us seeing houses is when the coronavirus outbreak happened and everything got pretty crazy. For a while we could not see homes in person, but Carol worked with the listing agent to set up video tours. This helped alleviate some of our anxiety - our lease was up at the end of September and, since we were finally in the position to purchase a home, we didnt want to get locked into another year of renting. Although our timetable was slowly growing smaller and smaller, Carol provided us with the confidence that we would figure everything out. We saw several homes that we were so-so on. Carol insisted that when we found the place that was right for us, we would know it and never put pressure on us to put an offer in on a place that we werent enthusiastic about. We lost out on a few houses that we really liked (it was hard to compete with all the cash offers that we were suddenly up against). We started to get a little disheartened about our prospects, but Carol did not waiver in her optimism. A house we had saw online and liked at the start of our search had its listing removed at the start of the pandemic (a lot of sellers were pulling back when everything started). Carol kept tabs on the house though, and when the listing came back up, she immediately contacted us. Things had started to open back up at this point, so we were able to set up a showing to check it out. My wife and I decided this was going to be the last place we put an offer in on for a while. If it didnt work out, we were resigned to renting for another year and waiting for the market to return to some semblance of normalcy.Carol advised us to write a letter to the seller and provided tips for doing so. It worked, and we got the house. We were in shock for a couple weeks. We just moved in at the end of September and we both love our new home. Had it not been for Carols insistence that we wait for the home we felt was right, I believe we may have ended up buying a place that wasnt quite right for us (mainly because we were getting to feel pretty desperate).We couldnt have been happier with our experience with Carol. She is extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. She took care of a lot of stuff for us that we felt went above and beyond the scope of her job.
