Aaron Watwood

As a Georgia native and math and science geek, Aaron moved to Athens in 2005 to follow his father's footsteps in becoming a UGA engineer (beat Tech!). He met his future wife Sara, a marketing major, in his senior year, who made his decision to stay in Athens all too easy; they married in 2009 and bought their first home, a little bungalow in Normaltown. The next decade was a whirlwind of family, education, big career decisions and having a blast in Athens: Aaron worked for several years as a civil engineer, completed two Masters degrees in engineering, became father to four children in six years, and switched careers to teaching engineering. Aaron and Sara renovated their Normaltown home, then moved and renovated two more homes as their family grew. As their knowledge of home construction, renovation and design increased, mixed with Aaron's knack for selling cars, furniture, etc for friends and family (he was dubbed the "Craigslist King"), both Aaron and Sara stepped into the world of real estate in 2016. As their community and roots grew in the greater Athens area, so did their real estate market and experience. Aaron and Sara joined 3tree in 2017, Aaron was awarded the prestigious "New Face of the Year" recognition from the Athens Area Association of Realtors in 2017, and reached the Circle of Achievement sales volume for 2019. With their ability to connect buyers and sellers, attention to detail, and vision for home renovation, Aaron and Sara continue to build their almost exclusively referral network. With the belief that plugged-in families are the lifeblood of community, Aaron and Sara connect to the Winterville and Athens communities in a variety of ways. Their children attend Winterville Elementary and the Winterville Baptist preschool, Aaron serves on the Winterville Historic Preservation Commission, Sara is a member of the Local School Governance Team for Winterville Elementary, and they are active members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in downtown Athens. It's not uncommon to find Aaron barbecuing a whole pig for their church picnic or Sara organizing a fundraiser for their school; they love to help in this way (especially if food is involved!).
