How do I find a home inspector to test for lead paint?

Do all home inspectors know how to test for lead paint? If not, how can I find a home inspector to test for lead paint?

Usually home inspectors do not do these tests. Generally you will need to find someone that does specifically lead based paint testing only. Many homes built prior to 1977 have lead based paint for they have made restrictions on using after 1977. So if concerned with lead based paint then you may want to look at homes newer then that.

I always suggest asking the agent who helped you to buy the home. If it is for a home you are looking at, ask your Buyers agent. Agents are a great source for vendor contacts!
