Do I have to pay for a stager to stage my house?

Is it going to be worth the $5k to have my house professionally staged or can I just do it on my own? My furniture isn't too old and I can clean out the clutter. Will I make more than the $5k back if I do it?

No, you do not have to pay for a stager to stage your house. There are several ways to stage a house for free, such as rearranging furniture, adding accents, and decluttering. You can also declutter and style the house yourself, utilizing items from around your home to give it a personal touch and make it more appealing to potential buyers.

As a property owner, you have the choice to either hire a professional home stager or to stage your home yourself. Whether or not it is worth the cost of hiring a professional stager depends on various factors, including the local real estate market, the condition and style of your property, and your budget. Professional home staging can help present your property in its best light, making it more appealing to potential buyers and potentially helping you sell your home faster and for a higher price. However, it can also be a significant expense, so it is important to carefully consider the potential benefits and costs before making a decision. If you opt to stage your home yourself, you can still make a big impact by decluttering, rearranging furniture, and adding a few decorative touches to help enhance the look and feel of your property. Cleaning and minor repairs can also go a long way in making your home more appealing to potential buyers. Ultimately, the decision on whether or not to hire a professional stager and the amount of money you should invest in home staging will depend on your individual situation and goals.

Completely depends on the sellers budget and the market conditions, on higher value homes I would strongly recommend it.

Properties that are priced right and staged well SELL. In addition, do not underestimate the putting your very best foot forward with a thorough cleaning! If you want to maximize your proceeds, I recommend hiring a professional cleaner for sure. As far as staging goes, in most cases, you can simply schedule a walk through and see how best to utilize your current furnishings, where to reduce clutter and how to set the stage with accents and accessories! Good luck!

Hi Tamika! You do not. Perhaps you and your agent can come up with a plan to use your furniture , store unneeded items and supplement what is needed! Good luck with your sale!

You do not have to spend $5k on staging. I would recommend investing in a storage unit. Start packing and only leave in the home what you will need during the phase of the Listing. Remove any over sized furniture. Have the home professionally cleaned if your Listing Agent does not offer the service. You can stage your home with your own furniture, absolutely. I recommend take down your family photos and remove all personal items. You want a Buyer to imagine their furnishings and Family in the home so less is better.
